Start your audit →JSON-LD schema for organisation, services, FAQ, products and articles.
Schema markup is structured data added to web pages in JSON-LD format that helps search engines and large language models understand the content semantically. Properly deployed schema improves rich result eligibility in Google, citation likelihood in AI engines, and accuracy of how brands are described in knowledge panels and answer boxes. Clickate audits, deploys and maintains schema for sites across ecommerce, B2B SaaS, healthcare, education and publishing in Nigeria.
The most common error is schema marking up content that does not appear on the page. A product page that claims aggregateRating with three hundred reviews shown nowhere on the actual page will be flagged by Google. Schema must be honest. The second most common error is schema duplication - multiple Organization blocks across different pages with conflicting information, confusing engines about which is canonical. The third is JSON-LD syntax errors that silently break the entire block; without validation, no one notices, and the page operates without schema at all despite the markup being present in the source.
Schema is invisible to users but persistent. Once deployed, it works on every crawl, every AI engine query, every knowledge graph update - for as long as it stays accurate. The work pays back continuously without further intervention beyond maintenance. For sites with thousands of pages the asset-to-effort ratio is excellent: a one-time deployment plus light quarterly maintenance produces years of ongoing benefit.
We deploy schema in JSON-LD format because it is cleanly separated from HTML, easier to maintain, and preferred by Google. Microdata and RDFa work but are harder to debug and update.
Every schema block we ship has been tested in Google Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator. Invalid schema risks being treated as spam — we do not gamble.
We do not mark up content that does not exist on the page. Schema must match what the user sees, or Google will penalise the markup as misleading.
Schema is not set-and-forget. Schema.org evolves, Google's rich result eligibility changes, and your content changes. We maintain the deployment quarterly so it stays aligned.
