Revenue, engagement, cost per result - per creator.
The Nigerian influencer market is uneven. The top tier - the macro-influencers with a million-plus followers - charges fees that frequently outrun their actual commercial impact. Their audiences are broad, their engagement rates are often inflated by giveaway-driven follower growth, and the cost-per-actual-engagement they deliver can be worse than well-targeted paid social. The middle tier - fifty thousand to three hundred thousand followers in a specific niche - is where most of the real returns hide. Engagement rates above three percent are common, audience overlap with your buyer can be high if you pick well, and fees are reasonable enough that performance-linked deals are negotiable.
The lowest tier - under twenty thousand followers - is where you find the highest engagement rates and the most loyal audiences, but it takes more management overhead per naira spent. Programmes that work here usually involve fifteen to thirty smaller creators activated together, sharing a brief, with central project management handling the orchestration.
Engagement metrics on a post are vanity. We measure influencer programmes against three real outcomes - incremental sales attributable to the campaign (via promo code, UTM, or test-and-hold), share-of-voice on category hashtags during the campaign window, and post-campaign brand search lift in Google Trends. These metrics are slower to read than impression counts but they tell the truth about whether the spend earned its keep. We share them with clients monthly and pull plug on creators or programmes that fail the test.
A meaningful share of Nigerian creators with sizable follower counts have purchased followers at some point - sometimes years ago, sometimes ongoing. The follower bots show up as engagement-rate anomalies, geographic mismatches, and unusually quiet comment threads relative to follower count. We screen for these signals before recommending a creator. Our shortlists tell you not just who looks big but who actually has the audience the numbers suggest. The work takes us hours per creator; doing without it has cost other Nigerian brands meaningful budgets.
We screen creators for audience overlap with your buyer, content quality and historical engagement authenticity. Many of our best results come from creators with under fifty thousand followers and deeply loyal audiences.
No hidden markups. We agree creator fees, our management fee and any usage uplift before signature. You see the same rate card the creator signs.
For ecommerce and apps, we negotiate hybrid deals — base fee plus performance kicker on tracked installs or sales.
Every creator passes a brand-safety check including past controversies. Every post is reviewed for FTC-style disclosure even where Nigeria does not require it — your brand is safer for it.

After a service failure or recall, well-chosen creators can rebuild category permission faster than ads alone.
